  • Brand new from our Ocarevolution line, this double ocarina offers some incredible features.

Tuned in C Major, this ocarina uses standard English 6 hole fingering system. The bigger chamber (tenor) plays from B4 to E6 and the smaller chamber (soprano) plays from C6 to E7. Both chambers are now fully chromatic. You can also play two notes at the same time on this ocarina.

We have included a complete fingering chart, as well as a Zelda Songbook, and Folksong for Ocarina Volume One with this ocarina. If you would like to have other songbooks instead, simple leave a note at the “comment” section when you check out. We'll be happy to switch them for you.

    I really like this one.

This is currently my most used ocarina. I really like to play this one. I found that the additional hole for B, C#, and D# is good for making a B but I found that just half holding C and D gets a better tone. Also there is a high pressure requirement for playing the high C and D on the lower chamber but it is very possible.

Switching chambers is really easy and it isn't to difficult to adjust the fingering between the lower and upper chamber. It really beautiful. I can't think of a better color palette.

Ergonomically it is really easy to place fingers where they need to be with the indentations correlated to the fingers holes.

The reason I am putting it at 4 stars is due to the two chambers just a hair out of tune from each other. They sound really close (much better that the coda chambers) but just not perfect. But really I wouldn't right it off for that. It is totally worth it especially if you like pendant ocarinas. I play exclusively pendant style so it was a must to add to my collection.

    What a beautiful challenge!

This is a beautiful looking ocarina with a nice weight to it. I like the design of the two chambers with respect to hole placement. This is because if you are covering the holes for the tenor range while trying to play the soprano range it doesn’t matter since you are controlling which chamber the air is flowing through. This helps if you have larger fingers since this is a compact ocarina with holes located quite close together. I am still learning how to play this ocarina since I am more familiar with the 12-hole system but I am pleased with the tone quality and by how easily it plays to pitch. I look forward to playing this instrument now and mastering it in the future!

    Next level pendant

A small ocarina with big sound! The double Maxrange pendant is very well tuned and with over two octaves available has great potential. With no other ocarina quite like it, there is a bit of a learning curve but that is all part of the fun. Recommended.

    Love it!

I'm probably wayyyy too much of an amateur to leave a very useful review, but I think it's great. Sounds lovely, very easy to play, etc. Some people say the two highest notes on the low chamber are too hard to play. I haven't found this to be the case. At first, there's a tendency to produce a super high shrill noise, but it's not hard to fix. Mostly it just involves higher breath pressure. The fingering is a bit cramped of course but it feels pretty comfortable to me. Once you get the idea, the fingering is also pretty intuitive. The range on this thing is ridiculous! Nobody expects this sort of range out of a pendant I think.

Now, for the small complaints I do have. The higher chamber has a tendency to sound a bit airy, and it can be really tricky to completely cover the holes. Of course if you don't, all the notes are off. Also, I'm not sure if the two chambers as in tune with each other as they might be on a professional level instrument. The teeny tiny extra hole on the lower chamber (for hitting all the chromatics) is a bit awkward. Also to my very untrained ear that hole sometimes doesn't seem to make much difference?

The only other thing I would say is, it is possible but difficult to use this for harmony playing. The windways are further apart than you'd think so you realllllyyyy have to open your mouth wide to hit them both. Also, because of the way the holes are placed, it's awkward to get certain combinations of notes. It's nearly impossible to cover some of the higher chamber holes without partially obstructing the neighboring lower chamber holes; not a problem for one chamber playing of course. I don't think it was really designed for harmony playing exactly but it doesn't do a terrible job at it.

Hopefully it doesn't seem like I'm picking this thing apart, because I actually really really like it!! I think all the problems I've mentioned are probably necessary tradeoffs to make something this cool in the first place.
