Event & Convention Representative

We are currently seeking an energetic, dependable, and outgoing individual to represent STL Ocarina at conventions and special events throughout the United States. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys meeting people, has excellent communication skills, and takes pride in providing outstanding customer service.

As one of the faces of our company, you will introduce customers to our products, demonstrate ocarinas, answer questions, and help create an unforgettable experience for visitors at our booth. When not traveling, you will assist with event preparation and other office projects.

Job duties for this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Represent STL Ocarina at conventions, festivals, and special events.
  • Demonstrate and explain our products to customers.
  • Provide exceptional customer service before, during, and after events.
  • Set up and tear down convention booths and displays.
  • Maintain an organized, professional, and welcoming booth appearance.
  • Process sales and assist customers with purchases.
  • Prepare inventory and supplies before each event.
  • Travel with the team to conventions throughout the United States.
  • Assist with event planning and logistics.
  • Support office operations between events as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Professional appearance and positive attitude.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Self-motivated and dependable.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift and move convention equipment and product displays.
  • Must be willing to travel, including weekends.
  • Experience working conventions, retail, hospitality, or customer service is a plus.
  • Music experience (playing an instrument, reading sheet music, or understanding basic music theory) is a plus, but not required.

Compensation/Benefits:

  • Full-time salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Ocarina Soloist (Future Opportunities)

Although we are not actively hiring for this position at the moment, we are always interested in hearing from exceptional musicians who share our passion for the ocarina.

At STL Ocarina, our soloists do much more than perform. They help inspire musicians around the world through concerts, educational content, product demonstrations, recordings, and creative projects. If an opportunity becomes available in the future, we would love to know talented performers who may be a good fit for our team.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Perform at concerts, conventions, and special events.
  • Record professional audio and video demonstrations.
  • Create educational and promotional content.
  • Teach workshops, classes, and private lessons.
  • Represent STL Ocarina in interviews, media appearances, and community events.
  • Assist in the development and testing of new products.
  • Travel throughout the United States and internationally as needed.

Ideal Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Music or equivalent performance experience. Master's degree is a plus.
  • Professional-level performance skills on flute, ocarina, or another woodwind instrument.
  • Excellent stage presence and communication skills.
  • Comfortable performing for live audiences and on camera.
  • Passion for teaching and inspiring musicians of all ages.
  • Willingness to travel.
