12 Hole Tenor Ocarina "Aria" (2 Colors Available)
Designed by the winner of STL's first Star Search Competition, Cris Gale, the Aria 12-hole tenor ocarina was designed to be beautiful, as well as ergonomic. It's long tapered shapes allows notes to transition from high to low with ease while the longer mouthpiece offers tone stability and a comfortable grasp.
The Aria ocarina measures 7.5 inches long and is made from quality ceramic. It's been accurately tuned in C Major with a pitch range of 13 notes. This exquisite instrument is available in black and green. While it was designed for techniques, a beginner can certainly start with the Aria and master its potential.

Excellent piece of craftsmanship. It turns out that that I happen to have a square clay kiln dried plate that has the exact same colored glaze and that is where it sits in it's place of honor. This is my 1st and I'm slowly learning to play.J
I know nothing about these,, I bought it for a Christmas present for my daughter so needless to say it will be a few months until she sees itT
I feared I wouldn't be able to play ocarina, but I received the Aria last week and I've successfully picked up a new hobby! Has a beautiful tone, comfortable to play with large hands, and looks gorgeous. Couldn't be happier.B
I love this Ocarina. It sounds good, feels amazing and looks cool as heck! I bought this one purely based on the size of my hands. They are on the bigger side (Large to XL glove size) and I read somewhere that this would be a good fit. It is easy to hold at the high notes, even with the required acute bend. The coating is interesting. It is Black Matte and feels really good when my fingers are sliding over it. The sound is really nice and it feels professional. I also checked the Range with my Oscilloscope and found that the notes truly are A4 to F6. I am able to hit the high notes, but it is a little tougher than I imagined......more practice and technique required. The high notes seem a bit easier to hit on the Tenor Zelda Ocarina of Time, but for the feel and look and especially the sound......the ARIA is by far my favorite.T
This is a really good standard 12-hole alto C ocarina. The best thing about it is ergonomics by far. The curvature and indentation through the midline give it a very natural feel when having to uncover most of the holes for playing the highest notes. The hole placement on this "Aria" feels most natural out of any 12-hole ocarina I have tried so far; however, this will depend on the person as I have midsized hands and longer, more slender fingers (I suspect my hands might be similarly sized and shaped to Cris Gale, the designer). I like how no acute bend is required (thought tonal quality improves if you do), and the breath curve is very natural (rising gently). The breath requirements for this ocarina are on the lower end, so it plays more softly than some other ocarinas I have from STL (this is neither positive nor negative, just depends on preference). I do think the overall timbre of this ocarina is slightly "breathy," which may suit some styles more than others. Lastly, I have noticed some squeaking when abruptly moving to high notes, though I am not sure if this is characteristic of all "Arias" or just mine, since there may be subtle differences even among ocarinas of the same model. I honestly really like this quality as I feel adds more possibilities for expression. In summary, I cannot recommend this ocarina enough, both for beginners and more seasoned players---I believe the "Aria" is of semi-professional to professional quality, so it has a really good price-to-quality ratio.
