    Siren ocarina - feel the scales of the mermaids tail!

    I was intrigued by the smaller Legend series having played tenor C major ocarinas. The Siren was smaller than I expected but the textured feel of the 'scales' is lovely. The colours are vibrant & the sound haunting. It will take some practise to master especially on the bottom C but I'm determined to master it!! I agree with another reviewer that it's too small for larger hands. I have small hands & find there's only just enough room for my fingers & to get the sub holes. Beautiful though!!

    Patience and Practice

    The quality of this ocarina, both in appearance and sound, is spot on. I tried a little of "Under the Sea" on it, and it was a little difficult due to it's small size. However, like all instruments, patience and practice make all the difference! So glad I added the Siren to my collection!

    A little tricky for the fingers at first, but well worth it!

    This ocarina really delivers when it comes to sound quality (and overall quality when it comes to build).

    I played "Ballad of the Windfish" as soon as I unwrapped it and was blown away by its beauty!
    If you're on the fence with this one, buy it.

    A lot of bang for the buck

    I've played C major ocarinas for a few year, more or less as a dabbler. Got this instrument today and I may be a little premature in writing a review but I find this to be a delightful instrument. Joe is right, this is a small instrument for large hands and fingers, though this comes in handy for getting the main hole and the sub hole at the same time. The breath control seems to be light. Just a little bit of time getting a ear for the sounds of the holes I was able to do a fair job of picking my way through "Rosin the Bow". I might look up some other Celtic music and see if I can find other tunes in A major.

    Different but Cool

    Surprisingly small - will take a some practice to master, but definitely worth the effort! Has the coolest texture of any Ocarina I've played. Makes you want to play with it all the time. Color is beautiful and the notes are well-tuned. Really like that it's tuned to "A". BEWARE - I would NOT recommend this for a beginner player. Takes some "moxy" to get the best sound. Lives up to it's name soundwise - sweet, haunting voices of the Sirens.
    If you're a budding intermediate player, go for it - it will help you to hone your playing techniques.
    Wish it would have come with at least a bag, but it's certainly not a deal breaker. For $39.00,
    it's a bargain!
