  • This ocarina is aimed for professional musicians. It is one of our higher end quality ocarinas, as it is handcrafted, and produces the most beautiful, crisp and crystal-clear tone that no other kind of ocarina can compare.

In the 14th century, the Chinese designed almost all of their clay products with blue and white porcelain. Blue and white porcelain became the foundation to later cultures, into the 18th century, and inspired Islamic ceramics, and European ceramics in creating their porcelain ware. It is not only a work of art in its own way, but it projects its sounds wonderfully off the walls of any concert hall.

This Ocarina has a unique shape to its 12-hole soprano, 13-note pitch range from A5 to F7, measures to be approximately 5 inches long, and is accurately tuned into C major. This instrument’s unique look, sound, and tone have left musicians in awe.

    Features:

    --12-hole soprano ocarina
--Handcrafted from blue and white porcelain
    --13-note pitch range from A5 to F7
    --Accurately tuned to C Major
    --Measures approximately 5 inches long
    --Online instructional booklet included

    12 hole porcelain soprano ocarina

This little thing is simply gorgeous to hold and look at, but its also easy to play, including the top notes. Sounds perfect, but you might want ear protection for the highest notes - that's the nature of the soprano ocarina, the difference is that this one plays them easily and in tune.

    In love

I’ve wanted this ocarina since I was 12 I am 29 now. I’m no professional player but I love the sound of it so much. It’s literally my most prized possession.

Beautiful, inimitable tone; hard to tune tho

For tone alone I’m rating 5 stars. These ocarinas mean business. Nonetheless, this porcelain soprano in C has been the first challenge for me. Due to its composition, it is much slower to warm than other ocarinas. That said, take your time in warmup, really tighten that embouchure, and try to “sense the capacity” of the flute. How much air are you blowing? Is it overpowering the small vessel? Ocarina is all about sensing the resistance of the instrument and working through that to make the appropriate sound for each register of the vessel. This porcelain one creates quite a bit of low range resistance and VERY little in the upper range, so watch out for blaring high notes and try and master your breath control. An unforgiving and no doubt professional piece, this porcelain ocarina will give anyone a run for their money! Especially when tuning to other instruments! Yikes! Really tough to tune. Truly.

    Beautifully crafted

Very well packed. Beautifully crafted piece of musical instrument. Each note is so clearly played. Fell in love with this cute little thing, after playing For a few Dollars More theme. Thank you STL Ocarina.
