A good instrument, makes a nice sound; well, seems good to me 👍M
This Double Ocarina (C Major) is absolutely beautiful! It feels terrific in the hands and has a lovely weight to it. I have quite small hands (size Small in gloves - even with mid-length fingernails), and I can hold this comfortably even though it is slightly larger due to being a Double Range. STL Ocarina's instruments are just wonderful. I first discovered ocarinas when I saw an ad for a very cheap copy (I didn't know that at the time) on Instagram. I bought that one and started playing around with it, and I really liked the idea of the instrument but I could hear it wasn't in tune (apart from my faulty finger placements). I then did some research, found out that indeed the video they had used in their ad had been stolen from STL Ocarina after which I then purchased the authentic instrument. WOW what a difference in quality, in both sound and feel! You can immediately tell this is a proper instrument. The instruction videos and books are also fantastic and easy to follow. I'm improving in leaps and bounds and I've got one of my kids (8yo) starting to have a go as well so I think I might be coming back for another one soon... Thank you for taking such care to make a beautiful instrument.C
I like it! It's pretty easy to hold for a larger ocarina, and seems pretty well in tune. :) For the price, not a bad one to start out with.L
Great tone on time delivery love the ocarinaA
The Double Ocarina in C Major was an excellent gift, and I'm very happy to play it as much as possible on a daily and consistent basis. It resonates very well, and is much louder than may at first be expected. It's positives far exceed it's negatives, especially in terms of it's general aesthetics and quality of sound. Each hole requires a slightly different "tdu" sound, a notably different amount of breath for pitch, and a different throat wiggle for jazzy vibrato - all of which is expected playing an Ocarina.
Desired improvements are many, but it should be clarified that they are minor and are understandable given the items price range. Unwanted and heavy strain on the left pinky finger is alleviated by ensuring good posture. Chambers do not match in precise direction, but you learn to angle your mouth. Smaller finger holes are difficult to feel, but you grow accustomed (Just a little bevel would do wonderfully here).
What I personally treasure most about it's aesthetics is that it doesn't look like a flashy toy, and sure enough it isn't. Most people are very complimentary about it and truly find it very cool. The blue gradient looks wonderful, and provides that Zelda feel without screaming I LOVE ZELDA. Unfortunately paint was inconsistently sprayed in some of the holes; Some are blue, when they were clearly trying to make the inside white. This is unfortunate, and upon inspection you'll quickly find there are splotches of blue spray paint coating it's white interior (I don't believe the spray impacts the sound.) The image as of now shows a small AC on top, but another large TNG was printed below it in gold which was deceivingly not in the image. This would be more welcome if it was on the back as a signature instead of a brand advertisement.
Rarely do I feel the need to possess two of something, so I would not buy another of this particular model, but would purchase from this company and website again. When change occurs, I'll likely invest in what appea...
