    My favorite ocarina!

I have been playing 6 hole ocarina for more than 5 years now. I love it so much that I'm currently having 10 favorite ocarinas with different keys and sizes. If I were to allow to keep only one, I would choose to keep this bass ocarina in C major! That is how good it is to me.

    Gorgeous sound

The sound from this ocarina gives me goosebumps. So incredibly satisfying to play, even if I can't do any real tunes yet. I was super impressed with how effortless it is to make sound, compared to other wind instruments I've tried. The colour and finish are great too, I love the glossy deep blue finish.

very nice ocarina with one small quirk

it sounds great and is in tune (generally), and for a ceramic bass ocarina at this price it's a great value. my one gripe with it however, the quirk, is that the standard fingering for A# produces a pitch that is a little too sharp. the normal fingering for this is both thumb holes are covered, and the right index finger hole is covered, all other holes are open. it is possible to compensate and breathe lighter to produce a lower pitch, but it disrupts the consistency of the breath curve, with the breath for this one note significantly lighter than the other notes surrounding it at the high end of the range and it's very difficult to play it like this without playing the notes directly above and below too low as a result.

i have found though that doing the standard fingering for A#, but also covering the right middle finger hole, results in a proper A# isn't too high or low while keeping consistent with the breath curve. after i adjusted to this and make that modification to my fingering, then it plays perfectly well and sounds great. it is jarring though that when i play any of my other pendant ocarinas, the fingering for this one note is different from the rest of them. i'm inclined to assume it is a flaw that slipped past QA during manufacturing when they tuned it, but since everything else is in tune, i find it hard to wrap my head around that this one hole could be out of tune without affecting other notes. i don't know what to make of it.
