Great t sound fingering needs clarification

I love the he look and sound but it wasnt clear, at first, that the right thumbhole is an airhole nort the usual thumb gile. When I called on it they were amazingly helpful though.

Lovely instrument and great method book!

A little while back, I ordered a soprano G double ocarina from elsewhere. It was on the cheaper side, and I just wanted to see if I could deal with the 2 chambers before spending more money on a better one. My mom ended up getting me this ocarina + method book set as an early birthday present, and I am as in love with the instrument as I am with the book. I played the violin for a long time in school and took private lessons, and this method book is exactly what I would expect from a good lesson book for an instrument. There are various exercises, arpeggios and thirds, etc., and songs that incorporate the new techniques that are covered in each lesson. The CD recordings for all the songs in the book are also immensely helpful. Sight-reading rhythm has never really be my strong suit.

The ocarina itself is even prettier in person than the picture shows. On the site, it looks a little more like a vaguely yellowish green, but in person it's more of a softer, light forest green that fades into the deep brownish black. It's a very solid instrument and well made, and I find the high notes (both on the lower and upper chambers) play very well. Another pro for this ocarina is the fact that the pinky hole on the left side of the lower chamber is not overly large. My first ocarina was an alto C (single chamber), but that same pinky hole was large enough that I could actually easily stick my pinky inside of it. So, as you can imagine, that caused me some trouble in keeping that hole sufficiently sealed. I don't have that problem on this ocarina.

Eventually, I hope to get the purple clay double (or maybe even triple) ocarina, but this is a very good stepping stone in learning and practice before I invest more money in another instrument, and the Art of Ocarina book it comes with has been absolutely invaluable in learning how to play it properly and well.

If you're considering a double chamber ocarina, I highly recommend this one and the Art of Ocarina 2 (assuming you are already familiar with the basics of playing the ocarina and you know how to read sheet music).

    Amazing

Yet another Ocarina that is way prettier in person than I expected it to be. Sounds great and plays well. I had the song books swapped out since I already owned them and they were very helpful and had no problem doing that.
