New Soprano Ocarina in C Major with Two Octaves RangeSTL Ocarina is pleased to bring you the first single chamber ocarina able to play two full octaves! It'll change the way you play the ocarina.
This ocarina is about 5.5 inches long. It is a soprano ocarina tuned in C Major with a range of G5 to G7. With the two extra notes now available, the number of songs you can play is greatly increased, but unlike the multi-chamber ocarinas, you no longer have to switch air holes to get a large range of notes. Now it is easier than ever to play two octaves!
This ocarina is completely hand crafted with the maker's signature at the back. It is made of the finest quality clay. Because this kind of ocarina is extremely difficult and time consuming to make, there are only a limited number available.
With this ocarina, we have included a complete fingering chart with detailed instructions on how to play this instrument. We have also included "She Moved Through the Fair Ocarina Parts with Play-Along CD" for free.
Frequently Asked Questions:
What is the importance of one extra sub-hole?
The extra sub-hole allows you to play 2 extra notes than you can play on a regular 12-hole ocarina. It allows you to play a high G and a low G.
What benefit can two extra notes give me as an ocarina player?
With these two extra notes, you can now easily move between C Major and G Major.
In music, the most important note of a scale is the tonic (or first note of the scale). On this C Major ocarina, the tonic is C. The second most important note in a scale is the fifth note, which is called the “dominant”. The dominant on this C Major ocarina is G. The tonic and the dominant are often the most frequently used notes in a song. Since 12-hole ocarinas do not include either low or high G (the dominant), players sometimes have difficulty playing a piece in its entirety. Instead of having to find an alternate note to play when you come upon a low or high G, now you can play the piece as written.
